Matthew Tagliaferri has been writing software since 1982. Tagliaferri has written three previous computer-programming titles including "Visual Basic .NET Codemaster's Library " (Sybex, 2002), "The Duke Nukem 3d Level Design Handbook" (Duke Nukem Games) (Sybex, 1996) and "Visual Basic .NET! I Didn't Know You Could Do That..." (Sybex, 2001). Tagliaferri has worked on software for internal, corporate use, as well as software to be sold in the retail market. The retail software includes many popular game related shareware including the Doom ][ Screen Saver and the qEDm a popular level editing program for the game Quake.
