Zigurd Mednieks runs Surfaceable.com, a consultancyin mobile system and application software development, with special focus on software embedded in devices and networked enterprise software. He has authored or co-authored several computer books. He has held senior positions in product development in the telecommunications industry, and is an inventor on two issued patents and several patents in process.Laird Dornin is a mobile applications architect with extensive experience in Java, Android, J2ME, and the webkit browser library. At Sun Microsystems, Laird has been a member of the J2SE engineering team as a member of the java.rmi and Jini technology teams. Laird was a lead and a team member of two Java Specification requests, RMI Optional Package(66), and Advanced Graphics and User Interface(209). Laird was also a significant contributor to the SavaJe operating system, an advanced and comprehensive mobile Java platform highly similar to Android and Blackberry. At Sun, Laird lead a team that integrated the WebKit library into the SavaJe platform. Laird has additional experience with blackberry, database programming, network protocols, and web application development.As a member of the Verizon Wireless developer support team, Laird currently provides Android architectural guidance and Network API support to members of the Verizon developer community.Blake Meike has more than 10 years of experience with Java. He has developed applications using most of the GUI toolkits and several of the Java mobile device platforms. He likes Android a lot.
