Produktinformationen zu „Step Up and Dance “
As I leaped and kicked, taking care to be perfectly in line, I felt a quickening in my chest, a secret dance in my heart. I just had to get through rehearsal and the game itself, then I would finally get to talk to him . . . Saph's life is pretty perfect. At sixteen, she's already doing what she loves: dancing in a cheerleading squad for a professional basketball team. So when she gets a Valentine from her secret crush, all her dreams seem to be within reach. But the harder Saph dances after her dreams, the more her real life starts to get in the way. Worst of all, the Valentine turns out to be a hoax. Humiliated and angry, Saph and her best friend, Summer, are determined to get revenge. A funny, energetic story about forgetting the moves and remembering what's important.
Autoren-Porträt von Thalia Kalkipsakis
Ever since kindergarten, THALIA KALKIPSAKIS has been fascinated with stories. She loves the way words can transport her to another world, or teach her anything about this one. She loved reading when she was a kid, and now she loves writing for kids who also love books. Thalia grew up on a carrot farm on the outskirts of Melbourne; it had a bush area down the back that was prefect for escaping and exploring. She kept writing stories as she grew up and, after a stint as a semi-professional dancer, she started working as a website editor and later, editor of travel guides. These days, she works from home as a writer and editor, and lives with her husband and two children in North-East Victoria. Thalia does her best writing in her head, while out for a run or a walk. She is also a great believer in sleeping through an idea - some of her tricky writing problems have been solved after a good night's sleep. Sometimes, Thalia even writes in her dreams!
