Sustainable Technologies for the Oil Palm Industry

                    

Mustafa Kamal Abdul Aziz was the Founding Director of the Centre of Lipid Engineering and Applied Research (CLEAR), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Upon his retirement from UTM, he was appointed as Honourary Associate Professor at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus. Mustafa works closely with industrial partners and government agencies, e.g. Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) and Board (MPOB) on various palm oil-based research projects, which include bioenergy, biofuels, biomaterial processing and process plant economics. He holds the patent for a green printing ink from palm olein for paper and packaging. In addition, he is a Visiting Professor at University Malaysia Pahang and the University of Tokyo Agricultural & Technology, Japan. He is also an active committee member for various international and national conferences. 

Dr Suzana Yusup, is the Head of Section under Fuel and Combustion Unit, Department of Generation and Environmental, Tenaga National Berhad (TNB) Research, Malaysia. Prior to joining TNB Research, she was a Professor in Chemical Engineering Department, and leading the Center of Biofuel and Biochemical at Universiti Technology PETRONAS, i.e. a Higher Center of Excellence of the Ministry of Education. Her research interest is in the area of biomass conversion to fuel and biochemicals, material development and green processes. Professor Dr Suzana Yusup has authored one book, 16 book chapters, more than 200 articles in high impact factor journals and conference papers, 16 patents and 3 granted patents.
