Lewis Carroll's magnificent nonsense poem The Hunting of the Snark features an unlikely cast of characters drawn from the Jabberwocky in Through the Looking Glass. This irresistible version is illustrated, and has an introduction by, Chris Riddell.
This is a luxury edition with both black and white and colour artwork, ribbon marker and metallic blue sprayed edges.
It was first published by Macmillan in 1876.

Lewis Carroll, 1832-98, war Dozent für Mathematik in Oxford. Seine Erzählungen über die kleine Alice gehören zu den bekanntesten und meistzitierten Texten der englischen Literatur. Sie sind Klassiker der Nonsensliteratur.Chris Riddell studierte Illustration in Brighton und hat zahlreiche Bilderbücher illustriert, hat aber auch schon eigene Geschichten veröffentlicht. Seine Figuren sind bekannt für ihren Witz und für die phantasievollen und faszinierenden Details. Chris Riddell schuf u.a. die Cover für die Kult gewordenen Bücher von Terry Pratchett. Er lebt mit seiner Familie in Brighton. Für seine Illustrationskunst erhielt er 2002 die Kate-Greenaway-Medal sowie den Smarties Book Prize Silver Award
