Each chapter in this book gives a clear background of how some of the current anti-inflammatory drugs were discovered and describes some of the problems and highlights that marked the research and development process.
The purpose of the book is to bring forward in both a narrative and technical manner the true nature of the discovery and development process of anti-inflammatory drugs.
Ultimate success or failure in the clinic is not the principle focus or issue here, but rather an understanding of the ways concepts are started and of all the thinking, nuances, prejudices and politico-scientific process that come into play in drug discovery.
