The International Symposium on Electric Aviation and Autonomous Systems (ISEAS) is a multi-disciplinary symposium that presents research on current issues in aerospace. The conference provides a platform offering insights on a broad range of current issues in the field of aviation, including electrification of aerial vehicles, all-electric aircraft, electric generation, and energy storage in aerial vehicles. ISEAS allows researchers, scientists, engineers, practitioners, policymakers, and students to exchange information, present new technologies and developments, and discuss future direction, strategies, and priorities in aviation and environmental sustainability of next-generation aircraft.
- Offers recent research on a wide array of topics;
- Addresses current issues in aviation and the sustainability of electric and autonomous aircraft;
- Full proceedings of ISEAS 2021 held at Eskisehir Technical University.
Öznur Usanmaz, Ph.D., is Dean of the Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics and a Professor in the Department of Air Traffic Control at Eskisehir Technical University. Before that, she was a member of the faculty at Anadolu. Professor Usanmaz studied Aeronautical Operations and received an MSc from ENAC - Ecole Nationale de 'l'Aviation Civile in 1992 and her Ph.D. from
Ravi Rajamani, Ph.D., is an independent consultant working on applying model-based and data-analytical techniques to aerospace systems, including those involving electric propulsion and autonomy. Before his current job, he worked at Meggitt, UTC Aerospace Systems, and GE Aviation. He is Visiting Professor of Aerospace, Transport, and Manufacturing at Cranfield University and a Research Professor at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Rajamani received his MSc from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota, and an MBA from the University of Connecticut. He is active within various SAE technical committees. He serves as the chair of the IVHM steering group and Editor in Chief of the SAE International Journal of Aerospace. In recognition of his accomplishments and expertise in this area, he has been elected a Fellow of SAE International and the Institute of Mechanical Engineers. He is also a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Dr. Rajamani authored many book chapters, journal papers, conference proceedings papers, and patents.
Hakan Oktal, Ph.D., is a Professor, Doctor, and Head of the Department of Avionics at Eskisehir Technical University, and previously held various academic positions, including Deputy Director of the Civil Aviation School and Director of the Civil Aviation Research Center. He studied Aeronautical Operations and received his MSc degree from ENAC - Ecole Nationale de 'l'Aviation Civile in 1990 and his Ph.D. from the Institute of Science at Anadolu University Eskisehir in 1998. Professor Oktal has authored numerous journal papers and scientific books in his field and has a patent on optimizing runway orientation. His research activities comprise human factors in aviation, optimization problems in air transportation, air navigation systems, and airport planning and design. More recently, he has been focusing on signal processing in satellite-based positioning systems, especially restructuring GNSS CNAV-2 navigation messages.
Alper Dalkiran, Ph.D., received his bachelor's degree Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Eskisehir Technical University from the Avionics Department. He completed his MSc degree in the School of Science from Anadolu University in 2004 in Aviation Maintenance. He earned his Ph.D. degree in 2017 in Environmental Sustainability on Airports from the School of Science at Anadolu University by developing a model of energy-based calculations of an aerodrome. He has studied aircraft engines, sustainability, airports, and exergy. He has 17 years of professional experience in Airports in Information Technology, Automation, and specialized practice in Master Systems Integration at airports. He has managed teams on system design, projects, tests, commissioning, operational readiness, and operations. He has been working in the School of Aviation at Suleyman Demirel University since 2019 and lecturing in Flight Theory, Airline Management, and Airport Design and Operations subjects.
Ali Haydar Ercan, Ph.D., is a Lecturer in the Electronics and Automation Department at Porsuk Vocational School at Eskisehir Technical University. He received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Cumhuriyet, Sivas, his MSc degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Gazi, Ankara, and his Ph.D. from the Department of Aerodynamics at the University of Liverpool, where he worked on boundary layer theory on flat plate surfaces and developed empiric formulas for transition development distance. He also earned a postgraduate degree in software technologies from the University of Liverpool. Dr. Ercan has a wide range of managerial experience with international commercial private companies.
