Oath (ePub)

Growing up I wasn't always able to express how I feel or what I felt however, writing always came easy to me. Thus, at a young age I realized just how powerful words can be. Spoken Word and poetry helped introduce me to myself, my meaning and my purpose. I was born De'Ann Ahsheba Edwards, but for the longest, I struggled with finding out who she was and who she is meant to be.
After doing some research, I found out my first and middle names together means 'Divine Oath'. Finding out the meanings behind my names was just so crazy to me because growing up I always hated both of them. At 20 years old, I have become more open now than ever to learn more about who I am and moulding into who I am destined to be. I know it won't be an easy road, but I also know he promised never to leave nor forsake me. A lot of times I found myself expecting to just walk into who I am supposed to be without going through a process and I'm sure I'm not the only one who had to realize that life just doesn't go that way. In the end, I know he promised to be with me every step of the way and he is a God that never lies. His word is his oath. We all are living proof of his oath.
In our own way, we each live to fulfill an oath that has been placed on our lives since birth. God's spoken word granted everyone a new life and a new promise. So, God let my writings be my promise to stay at your feet. Allow my spoken words to be a vow to always be an authentic encouragement to your people and just like my name allow my life to be a divine oath to you.
