It can also be used as a textbook for short courses on maintenance in industry.
This text is the second edition of the book, which has four new chapters added and three chapters are revised substantially to reflect development in maintenance since the publication of the first edition. The new chapters cover reliability centered maintenance, total productive maintenance, e-maintenance and maintenance performance, productivity and continuous improvement.
Dr. Abdul Raouf is a distinguished national professor and professor emeritus University of Management and Technology (UMT) Lahore, Pakistan. He has retired from active teaching but still involved in consulting and supervising research students. He was a university professor at UMT for more than a decade and prior to that he was Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI) rector, Pakistan. He spent more than ten years at KFUPM Saudi Arabia. He spent the years 1966-1984 at the university of Windsor Canada, out of this period he was the chairman of the Industrial Engineering Department for 7 years. His contributions to the profession include more than hundred articles in journals of repute, 12 books (authored or edited). He is on the editorial board of quite a few professionaljournals and the
