Pirates, corsairs, buccaneers, filibusters have already become the heroes of the adventure books. However, in real life the history of pirates, which started in the remote times (Homer used to talk about the pirates) and they continue till our days, full of horrifying bloody pages and the pirates themselves quite often are represented as robbers, blackmailers and murderers, occupying not only the ships but the whole cities... In this publication the translation of these books is given, it is done in the second half of the XIX century by the literary man and translator K. E. Velsberger.
