Produktinformationen zu „The Spy Who Couldn't Say No (ePub)“
ASA agent William Wright had matured from being a brash young soldier to a seasoned espionage agent with a gift that foretold impending danger. He gradually changed from a baby-faced university student to a devilish handsome young man with an agenda in pursuing communist agents to beautiful ladies in Europe. These traits had a tendency to have him loved or hated according to who was taken advantage of his availability. The ones who disliked his natural confident manner were usually fathers protecting their daughters or husbands who became adversaries. He never turned downor almost nevera ladys wishes when they were needed to make sure an assignment was successful. Loyalty was his creed with fellow associates, lovers and the three generals he answered to, and justifiable force was his trademark. Will asked for no quarter and gave only when respect warranted such reactions.
Autoren-Porträt von L. A. Wiggins
Lloyd was born on a small Florida farm in central Florida on August 8, 1946, and he attended Riverview Elementary School and East Bay High in Hillsborough County. He left high school early to join the army in order to get away from the endless chores on the family farm. He received an honorable discharge from the army in West Germany in late March 1967 and stayed in Europe for another year mainly in the United Kingdom, working his way around the country. He met a young English schoolteacher from Harrow, a leafy suburb of West London and married Nikki on October 7, 1967. They returned to the Riverview or Brandon area in late March 1968. Lloyd was employed by Delta in late 1968 until April 1981. That was when Nikki and Lloyd, with their two children, immigrated to England and finally Scotland, where they started a successful antique brokerage company. They returned to Florida to live in 2008 in a beautiful home on the golf course. Nikki passed away on February 21, 2011, after forty-four years of marriage. Lloyd started writing their life story to tell the world how wonderful and blessed their life had been. From that first book, Harrow Girls/Promises Kept, which was a labor of love, Lloyd started writing about their travels and their dogs. Realizing how much he enjoyed it, he started writing spy novels with his early days on the Czechoslovakia and East German borders while serving in the US Army as a backdrop. Later their lives took them to Eastern Europe after the Iron Curtain came down, where they traveled to buy antiques and explore the once cut off countries of the Soviet Bloc.
